More than 8000 girls and women in England are subjected to the cruel practice of female genital mutilation.
It is known, that during "Cutting Season" (holiday season) families bring their daughters abroad in order to cut them. Now specialist midwives are flown over and several girls are cut at the same time, which leads to a "celebration ceremony".
The charity "Black Health Initiative" became aware of the problem, after a 8-year-old was dicovered in a school bathroom last week in severe pain following a FGM procedure.
FGM parties are happening in West Yorkshire, London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham. The West Yorkshire police departement confirmed that they were aware women and girls are undergoing FGM throughout the country, but not that FGM parties were happening.
Either there are parties or single cases, fact is that FGM is happening all over the world right next to us watching it!
137 000 girls and women underwent FGM in England and Wales and still there isn't one successfull persecution!
