I have been urging national governments supporting Africa for years to give billions of dollars directly to women's initiatives ensuring them access to career development, continuing education and vocational training instead of financing corrupt governments.
Women are the backbone of Africa. Usually, they raise their children alone, work and financially provide for their families. Everyone who has some experience with Africa’s issues is aware of that.
Yet, governments and institutions act in the same way as before. As a result, more and more Africans lose confidence in their continent and just want to leave for Europe.
Therefore, Desert Flower Foundation through its program "Save a Little Desert Flower" supports especially single mothers and grandmothers who take care of their children and grandchildren.
