Muntaz, our first “Desert Flower Center” – baby was born today in Berlin. She is the first baby of a woman having had a reconstructive surgery in our Desert Flower Center. Muntaz is healthy, active and strong.
The mother of the newborn girl was 20 years old, when she came to the first meeting of our Desert Flower Center self-support-group. She had fled from Somalia.
Soon after the first meeting she requested from Dr. Cornelia Strunz, the head of Desert Flower Center, a reconstructive surgery. She planned to get married and have children.
Only a few days after her marriage, the surgery took place. The subsequent pregnancy went by without any complications. The Somalian husband was very supportive.
With the birth of Muntaz a dream has come true.
Dr. Strunz is also very proud of the first “Desert Flower Center”- Baby.
