Up to 20 million Nigerian women have had their genitalia cut, according to the health ministry of Nigeria. At least three million are cut each year in Nigeria, said the president's wife, Aisha Buhari.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, has the courage to speak out against this crime. She and spouses of governors have joined calls to prosecute people involved in the practice.

In a message delivered by the wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, Buhari said, "We are mothers and women and have the primary role to use our privileged positions to make life better for Nigerians, especially women and girls."

"The solution will only come if we start prosecuting the people doing this, because in Nigeria this is the only way we can end this barbaric act," said the wife of one state governor.

We demand laws without loopholes and strict enforcement of those laws. In Nigeria and everywhere!

Please support our fight!
