Hundreds of Samburu women are up in arms over the continued practice of female genital mutilation in Kenya.
They went on the streets in a five kilometer protest walk from Maralal town to yare campsite.
The protestors are calling for stake holders not to limit their campaigns to seminars held in hotels in Maralal but to extend them to remote areas of the region where the practice is deeply rooted.
They are also calling for a strategic plan to educate both women and girls on the best way to shun the practice.
