Somalia's government has repeatedly announced that FGM is now being prosecuted, but so far nothing has happened.
The cruel and meaningless dying of innocent little girls in the desert continues.
On the 10th of September, two sisters, Aasiyo Abdi Warsame 10 years old, and her sister Khadjo, 11 years old, bled to death in the village of Arawda in Puntland after being brutally mutilated, according to TV channel CNN.
Her mother was trying to get medical help after the bleeding still hasn't stopped after 24 hours.
Somalia's government must now finally follow its promises with deeds.
FGM, a perfidious crime against children, must not find a place in the 21st century.
