A couple living in London is accused of committing the cruel ritual of FGM in August last year on a three year old girl.
They each face five different charges including FGM, failing to protect a girl from the risk of FGM and possession of extreme pornographic images.
It is so far only the third attempted FGM prosecution in Britain, whereby the two previous cases have ended with the suspects being acquitted.
The couple were remanded in custody. The prosecution proceeds on 31 August.
We demand British authorities to take actively action against this brutal crime and bring every case of FGM in front of a court!
