My name is Jatu Kamara and I am one of the little Desert Flowers.
When I was only two years old, my Mom put me in the hands of our neighbor and left me.
My mom was a strong, very hardworking woman and has done everything to feed and care for our family.
To make this possible, she tried to build up her own business. Therefor she had to borrow a micro-loan in the amount of 50 USD.
But fate did not mean well with her. Despite all efforts, she had to close her business.
The employees of the credit company put pressure on my mom with cruel threats.
Full of fear of these people and from shame of not being able to sustain her business, my mom desperately decided to leave me behind and ran away.
She wanted me to get the chance for a better future.
Now I am nine years old and I'm lovingly raised by my neighbors.
Thanks to Your support and the Desert Flower Foundation, I am now able to attend school and I dream of learning a great job, so that I will be able to take care of my own children later on.
You have changed my life!
Please support the Desert Flower Foundation and save more little Desert Flowers from their tragic fate!
